Yo había venido a Estados Unidos enviada por mi congregación en años anteriores pero nunca me gustó y siempre me regresaba a México. En 1982 fue la primera vez que trabajé en Texas en una parroquia donde el 80% de la población era inmigrante. Trabajando con los inmigrantes fue cuando sentí que ese era mi llamado y fue la primera vez que me sentí a gusto en este país.

M y order had sent me to the United States in the past. I never liked it much here and would always return to Mexico. But in 1982 I began to work at a parish in Texas with a population that was 80% immigrant. That's when I realized that my calling was working with immigrants and for the first time I felt at home in this country.
