Tengo mucho orgullo que mis hijos han tenido esta experiencia de conocer a mi abuelito. Hace poco que murió, llegó a los cien años. Porque lo tuvimos a él, también los niños supieron lo que fue hacer sus siembritas, y tener sus huertas de chile, y pasearse en carro de caballo y la experiencia del lenguaje y de tantas costumbres que tenemos. Cuántas cosas les hemos dado, les hemos enseñado a los niños, como ahora los pastores, las posadas, los matachines, a enfrascar. Yo enfrasco 400 frascos en un año y los niños me ayudan. También los niños nos han ayudado a hacer dos casas de adobes.
I have great pride that my children had the experience of knowing my grandfather. He died not long ago and made it to 100 years old. Because we had him, my children learned first-hand what it was like to grow a garden, and how to have a chile patch, and go for a ride in a carriage pulled by horses, and to experience the language, and so many traditions that we have. So many things we've given and taught to our children, like los pastores, las posadas, los matachines, to do canning. Every year I prepare 400 jars and the children help me. The children have also helped us build two adobe houses.
