Esa vecina que te digo yo, Teresina Gutiérrez, fue la que me enseñó a mí a enjarrar. Y todavía veo a otras enjarrando y no lo hacen como lo hacía ella. Ella sí sabía enjarrar. Donde ella ponía la mano, caía el enjarre.
Te voy a decir cómo enjarraba, porque es necesario que se sepa cómo es la mejor manera de hacerlo. Se tiene que mojar la pared, rociar con agua a que quede bien mojado. Después coge uno la manotada de zoquete y la tira, no la pone suavemente, sino que la tira hacia la pared. La tira porque tirándola entra el zoquete en todas las rajas que hay en el adobe. Después, con la mano, se hace más suave y se alisa. Pero siempre esa manotada que vaya recia, para que entre el zoquete a la pared con mucha fuerza. Después, la mano que siempre alisa iba como un arco, para arriba y para abajo. Veías tú las manos de las mujeres hacer ese arco tan bonito, que siempre es como una nota de música.

Yet, always that handful of mud has to be thrown with strength, so that the mud enters that wall with a lot of force. Later on, the hand that smooths the wall moves in an arc-like motion, up and down. You could see the women's hands making the arc-like movement so beautifully, that it is always like a musical note.
