Cuando yo veo la manera en que hemos crecido y hemos podido contribuir algo a nuestras comunidades como adultos que somos, pienso que esto es algo que nuestra madre (nos enseñó), por todo lo que nos dió cuando nos crió, y de ahí es de donde viene. Es tan importante, usted sabe, como cría uno a sus hijos y que es lo que uno hace. Porque aún cuando nos convertímos en adultos y nos volvemos padres (ellos nos miran a nosotros como roles). Yo sé que yo miro para atrás y pienso¿cómo hubiera manejado esto mi madre? El ejemplo que ella estableció fue muy importante para mí. Ella es, todavía, un rol muy poderoso.
I look at the way that we have grown up and we've all been able to contribute something to our community, as grown-ups that we are. I think that is something that my mother (taught us), because of all that she gave us when she was raising us. That is where that comes from. It is so important, you know, how you raise your children and what you do. Because even though when they become adults (they look at you as a role model). I know I look back and I think how would my mother have handled this? It was very important the example that she set for me. She is still a powerful role model.
